1. I’ve thought about whether I want a birth partner like a doula at my labor. I figure my partner might need some help with giving me massages and bringing me ice chips.
2. Growing a baby is inspiring me to grow other things, so I’ve been gardening. Gardening is a great pregnancy-safe exercise, but I’m making sure to always wear gloves to avoid potential parasites.
3. I can check another “nesting” task off my list: I’ve figured out where all the big baby gear (like the stroller) will go in my house. I’m starting to wish for a bigger house already!

4. Pregnancy is giving me dry eyes, so I’ve stocked up on saline drops.
5. I’ve been researching ways to interact with baby after he arrives, especially games and activities that will help him develop mentally and socially.
6. My partner and I have talked about how we’ll keep the house clean in the first few months after baby arrives. (I’m voting for a house cleaning service!)
7. I’m not counting calories, but I am staying aware of how much I should be eating — which could be less than I think. I only need 300-500 extra calories a day. My weight gain is right on track: 1/2 to 1 pound per week.
1. I went to the store and stocked up on staples. My pantry is stocked with dry food and canned goods, my freezer is full, and my bathroom cabinets are full of toiletries and medicine. I’m saving it all for after baby comes, and I won’t need to shop for more
2. All that extra weight in my belly is starting to cause some problems in the bathroom. My doctor gave me some recommendations for pregnancy-safe hemorrhoid relief.
3. I’ve researched vaccines, and my partner and I have talked about them. My doctor has talked with me about the standard vaccination schedule and recommendations.

4. My partner and I have made a plan for how we’ll keep romance alive — both in the bedroom and out — after baby arrives.
5. I’ve learned about games, activities and toys that can help baby’s physical development. I even know some activities that will help my physical recovery, too!
6. I’ve made sure that both my partner and I have enough life insurance. Having a new family means life insurance will be even more important if something happens to either of us.
7. My maternity leave is on the company calendar! My employer and I have discussed it and finalized my leave plans.
