Pregnancy Checklist. Week #33
1. My partner and I did a test drive to the hospital to see how long it really takes to get there. Okay, actually we did several test drives. At different times of day. And mapped three different routes, just in case.
2. Epidural, natural, or c-section? I’ve finished writing my birth plan, complete with back-up options if things don’t go according to plan.
3. I’ve read about postpartum recovery and what my body will be like after birth. Hint: I’m not going to be wearing those skinny jeans again as soon as I hoped. I packed some first-trimester maternity clothes to wear home from the hospital.

4. I’ve been wearing maternity support hose. They’re supposed to help prevent fluid retention, swelling feet, and aches. I’m not sure if they’re helping or not!
5. I’ve made my labor playlist! I downloaded music I want to listen to during labor. I’ve included a mix of soft, relaxing music and energetic pushing music.
6. I’ve learned about pumping and storing breast milk if I plan to breastfeed. I’ve made space in my freezer for lots of bottles of milk!
7. I bought my nursing bra and other supplies like breastfeeding-friendly bottles and a breast pump.

Pregnancy Checklist. Week #34
1. If I’m planning a home birth, I’ve talked with my midwife about safety plans and back-up care if necessary.
2. My bags are packed! I packed my hospital bag with all my essentials, from toiletries and entertainment to directions to the hospital, copies of my insurance cards, and my birth plan. I also packed a separate bag with newborn essentials, and a third bag for my partner. Now we just have to remember all three when we dash out the door.
3. I’m ready to relax postpartum. I’ve got several weeks of dinners cooked, frozen and ready to heat. I won’t have to set foot in the kitchen for a month.

4. I washed all the baby clothes and put them away. They’re organized in the nursery dresser, arranged by size and season.
5. I talked with my employer to finalize when my last day will be before maternity leave. And I’ll be honest: I’m counting down the days till my “vacation”!
6. ROA, LOP, transverse, breech…there’s a lot more to baby’s position than just head down! My doctor and I have talked about how my baby is positioned right now. I understand how position can affect labor, and my doctor and I have talked about any concerns and my options.
7. My baby’s swing is assembled and ready to go. (Who knew a piece of baby gear could take up so much space in my living room?)
