Is it itchy? It could be an allergic reaction to something he ate or touch. @Laura or @TheresaGould may know more. If it looks raised a little, it could be an allergic reaction, also, or a form of hives.

I thought that too. He doesn't seem bothered by it though

Is it rough patches that look like they might be peeling? Grace has been getting patches like that lately and I've figured out my carpets just needs shampooed because she only get them on skin that touches the carpet. So if it's in place like under his arm, it could be from winter layers rubbing on his skin. Try keeping it moist with lotion and see if it helps.

That sounds like hives or molluscum.

Hm. My first thought is allergic reaction to something.. Has he come in contact with new clothes, food, different kind of animal (even different breed), new soap, new laundry soap? It sounds like eczema or psoriases (I just googled those a few days ago...just don't look at pictures if you do), but it might be best to ask his pediatrician. i'm sure the'd ask you about new things he might have come in contact with or ate

I agree with that, too. I was thinking an allergic reaction as well. I get rashes and hives from tree nuts and other ingredients found in products. It is best to see the pediatrician. He/She may suggest seeing an allergist.

Oh gracious, I didn't even think along those lines! My kids have a penicillin reaction that looks like hives. Has he had any medications lately?

Yes, Jaina had a reaction to Bactrim that looked like that, but they were blotches and not bumps.

What I would do is give my kids nothing but chicken noodle soup and crackers and vitamins... Boost their immune system and clean them out. I'm puzzled.
