Why is my 4 month old baby feeding more at night?

My lactation consultant informed me that infants typically feed more during the night when they get to 4 months of age. The reason is their eye sight improves greatly and they begin to see across a room and they become interested in everything around them. Since they have increase in activity and distractions feedings during the day may not be as profitable to them as they had in the past. So infants then begin to feed more during the night when things are calm, soothing and less distracting. It will pass as they become used to seeing more of their surroundings, you just have to posses patience as they learn to adjust.
