Try and wake him during the day when he has been napping too long. I would say no longer than a 3 hour nap.

At night, try starting a bedtime routine- bath, lotion, lullabies, and milk. Make sure the lights are off and speak in a hushed voice. Eventually he will associate the bedtime routine with sleep.


Newborns tend to sleep during the day because they became adapted to your body moving.

Try waking them more in the morning through out the day and at night swaddle play soft music and keep it darker. Craddle swings work great even if your baby is still awake have it nearby so you can doze off for a little.
