Then there were reports a couple years ago how there were alarming levels arsenic found in rice and rice-based products like cereal and milk. Rice absorbs more arsenic than other plants because it's grown in water and a lot of rice grown in the U.S. has arsenic laced pesticides used on cotton.

There's also the factor of rice cereal not containing much nutritive value and if you give too much rice cereal, a highly refined carbohydrate, it can cause obesity.
