During the first trimester of pregnancy many women will experience cramps. These cramps are usually just your uterus growing and stretching to accommodate the growing baby. As long as you are not experiencing any other symptoms there is no cause for concern.

In the third trimester many women will experience Braxton Hicks contractions and real labor contractions. Contractions can feels like cramps and can cause pain. Aches and pains are also common during the third trimester because of the weight of the baby.

If you are experiencing bleeding, severe pain, sharp pain, vagina discharge, or any other concerning symptoms along with cramping call your doctor.
