Allergic reactions to banana can vary widely and can include itching of the mouth and throat, uticaria (hives), angiodema (swelling), cramps, diarrhea, and wheezing. Generally, symptoms develop within minutes of eating the fruit. Although it is uncommon, there is potential for banana to cause anaphylaxis, which can include a serious fall in blood pressure.
