Drinking another moms milk: is that safe for baby?

It can be, or it can not be. If your baby is going to drink another mom's milk, I would suggest taking a good, detailed look at that mom. It needs to be someone you trust and know that they aren't doing any drugs (illegal or prescription) and that she doesn't have any communicable diseases.

There are milk banks available where they do most of the screening for you. I believe there are also strips that you can buy to test breastmilk for alcohol, drugs, or other potentially harmful substances.
