A faint positive line on a pregnancy test will be the color of the dye, either blue or pink. The line will be in the correct place on the test. The line must be read during the time period on the instructions.

An evaporation line will be appear after the time window the directions allow. The line will appear after the test dries out. Never read a test after the period of time the directions allow.

An indent line is usually gray. Sometimes you will be able to see an indent in the test where the line should be.
