Always place babies to sleep on their backs during naps and at nighttime. Babies sleeping on their sides are more likely to accidentally roll onto their stomach, the side position is just as dangerous as the stomach position.

Most babies start to roll over at about four to five months. They first learn to roll from belly to back, and then several weeks later from back to belly. Once your baby gets very good at doing this at will, then if they really prefers to sleep on their belly they will flip them self over.
