Is standing unsafe for a young baby? /your baby will show signs that they're ready to stand up. My daughter loved standing and then she started walking holding my hands. She started around 7 months old of just wanting to stand up on my lap or on the ground, then it progressed into her thinking hey I can hold onto mommy and walk around.
Babies begin to bear weight on their legs by about 2 to 5 months. They won't be able to actually stand up while holding on to things until they are 6 to 9 months old, but at this age, they can often put weight on their legs while you support their body. Learning how to bear weight on their legs and find their center of gravity wont cause your child to have bowed legs, letting your child stand or bounce is both fun and developmentally stimulating for them.
