Bedtime theme for preschool

Kids will love a bedtime theme in preschool! Declare a Pajama Day and encourage kids to come to school in their pajamas. Make sure you wear pajamas too.

Read Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Gorilla, The Going to Bed Book, Russell the Sheep or some other bedtime related stories. During circle time, talk about bedtime routines. Tell them what you do and ask them what happens before they go to bed. Discuss different types of nocturnal animals such as bats, owls and raccoons.

Act out the song, 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed or sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Then do a craft project where they decorate pictures of pajamas with markers, crayons, or bits of tissue paper or fabric or create a starry night by using glitter glue or gluing tiny silver stars onto a black piece of paper.

Have them practice a couple of yoga poses and explain how yoga can help relax their bodies to help them rest.
