If doctors cannot halt your labor, then, for all intents and purposes, you will go through a normal delivery as long as your baby doesn't show signs of distress, in which case a c-section will be done. The good news is that your labor is likely to be a little shorter that that for a full-term baby. Immediately after the birth, the baby will be assessed and given help breathing if necessary. Depending on the degree of prematurity, you may have the opportunity to hold your baby briefly before he is taken to the NICU.
