When to worry about blood in baby's stool?

It is never normal for your baby to have blood in their stool. A small amount of bright red blood on the outer edge of your baby's stool might be caused by bleeding from the anus, especially if your baby was constipated and their stool was firm and large. Food allergies and illness can also cause blood in your baby's stool. Your doctor will probably examine your baby, your doctor might recommend a stool sample and maybe some other tests to determine the cause of the bleeding. Hopefully it is minor and easy to treat. Try not to worry, be calm and get your baby to the doctor.
