Pregnancy induced high blood pressure generally goes down and back to normal within two weeks after your baby is born. In some cases medication might be needed to help lower your blood pressure so that it can return to normal. After birth the body quickly returns to normal as the blood volume and fluid volumes reduce back to their normal levels. If you have high blood pressure make sure that you follow up with your doctor and have it checked out to ensure that it returns to normal.
