When can babies eat honey

Honey can be dangerous for babies. Honey can contain spores of a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, which can germinate in a baby's immature digestive system and cause infant botulism, a rare but potentially fatal illness.

You are not supposed to introduce honey until the baby is at least a year old but it may be a good idea to wait even longer. Don't stress as much about things that have honey cooked into them. That is generally considered safe. I didn't introduce that until after 8 months or so though.
