Is it normal for my breastfeeding baby to spit up?

Rather than limiting bay's nursing look for other reasons for the spilling up. For example if baby was crying a lot before nursing s/he probably got a lot of air in her tummy and that made her spit up. Respond quickly, comfort her and burp often.

Your milk may be letting down too fast causing baby to gulp and swallow air. You might try to anticipate when he'll nurse and express some milk before. Or if/when you feel your milk let down delatch for a minute or two. Use this time to burp baby. Then relatch.
