Ear infections can be difficult to diagnose as a parent. To truly know that it is an ear infection, the inner ear needs to be looked at with an otoscope by a nurse or doctor.

Some signs you may notice are the child saying their ear hurts, pulling on the ear, redness in the ear canal, drainage coming from the ear, crying when laying down, and an unwillingness to lay on the affected side.
