Home remedies for asthma attacks

I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 8 years old. I've been on many different medications. Controlling your asthma is hard to do if you aren't on medication. Natural therapies such as yoga breathing exercises may help people with asthma learn how to control their breathing and relieve stress, a common asthma trigger. Massage therapy may increase relaxation, helping the person with asthma breathe easier. Dietary changes are another natural remedy as you avoid foods that may trigger asthma symptoms.

While I am a strong proponent of essential oils and natural remedies, I would caution anyone on using any at-home treatments for asthma. Asthma is a very dangerous disease and can lead to death if not treated. Please, see your physician about your child's asthma and get an asthma care plan. Follow that. Go to the ER if you are ever concerned about your child's breathing (blue lips, unable to talk, wheezing).
