Ectopic pregnancies don't always occur in the fallopian tube, unfortunately. Any blastocyst that attempts to implant outside the uterus is considered an ectopic pregnancy; this can happen on the ovary, the bladder, the outside wall of the uterus, and even the musculature that holds everything together in that region. The earlier this emergency is detected and treated the better the outcome for mom. Any abdominal pain in a female of child-bearing age, that is localized to one side should be considered an ectopic pregnancy until proven otherwise.
