Food heated in a microwave can quickly get too hot and often contains "hot spots" that can be deceiving. Heating on the stove top may be safer.

If you do heat baby food in the microwave, scoop it out of the jar into a microwave-safe dish, and heat for just a few seconds. Stir well and let it stand for a minute. Test the temperature before feeding it to your baby. It should be about room temperature, no hotter.

Another way to warm up the baby food jar is sit it in a bowl with hot tap water or water that was heated in the microwave.
