I think you just need to go with what you feel . I never did decide ahead of time . I wanted to wait until I was going thru things to decide what I wanted to do . With my 4th I ended up have no meds during labor . I was able to be up walking around and rocking and it helped me manage the pain . It was very manageable with this labor and didn't get really bad until about the last 20 minutes before he was born . With the next 2 my labors were different and much more intense so I chose an epidural . Do what you feel is best for you and your baby !!!

With my son I had something out in my IV I cant remember what it was but it made me sick and the walls were spinning and all. so when it came time to deliver my daughter I went natural. well I asked for Tylenol because I was really thirsty. and people say they are to small... im 4'9 and about 95lbs... my kids were 5lbs 10oz and 6lb 3oz which made it easier I guess

Its really hard to say, even with genetics every women's body is different. My mom was late delivering me and had to have a C-section, and I gave birth to both my daughters like 2 1/2 weeks early and had natural easy labor and deliveries, Thank God

I was in labor for 3 weeks, I never had normal labor contractions, they were all wacky. My water wouldn't break, so they had to break it. I was going to do natural, until I couldn't get comfortable or sleep, and it never hurt me, it was a feeling where I couldn't get comfortable or anything. So I got the epidural, then I went to sleep, got woken up at 7:30 to get checked, and was told I needed to start pushing, I made phone calls. I started pushing at 8 until 10:28, when she was born. I had to push then, because the cord was wrapped around her neck, after she was born, I was told I shouldn't of been able to deliver her vaginally. She was too big and 3 weeks early, weighting 8.1 lbs. She is perfectly healthy.

I could never do it. I had a very easy labor/delivery because they gave me the epidural so fast, I literally felt nothing until I started pushing. I'm scared to death to do it naturally because I'm so small (especially 'down there' lol) and my boy was a whopping 8 lbs 10 oz. I wouldn't be able to handle that kind of pain. Kudos mama!!

All three of my labors and deliveries were natural. No pain meds. Everything went fine.

I'm planning for a natural labor. I decided this after the guilt of putting my baby through so much cortisol (depression hormone) during my 1st trimester. Being bipolar and stopping cold turkey on my supplements per my naturopath had its hardships during early pregnancy . Also did some light research on the findings for babies who were exposed to the epidural and that being linked to ADHD. Erik had made comments that he didn't want to ever experience another pregnancy like mine so I want to get the most out of my labor and delivery. I want to remember every detail because this could be my last pregnancy (knock on wood). I want more children!

My first was "my" horror because I wanted natural and while I gave birth vaginally, I had a lot of medical intervention I hadn't planned on. The rest of my births were good experiences, with the exception of my last which was just a pro-longed labor for my eighth child.
