It is recommended that women gain no more than 30lbs during pregnancy and most research is even indicating 30lbs is too much. Weight gain over 30lbs increases your risk of a number of health problems, such as gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia.

If you doctor is concerned and wants you to gain weight you should gain at a slow steady pace. It is recommend that you eat a larger volume of healthy foods and healthy fats to increase your weight. Try drinking whole milk, eating avocados, and adding olive oil to your food.
