My doctor knew I was a caffeine addict, because it helped with my headaches. She told me to slowly cut back from my normal amount to about 1 to 1 and a half cups a day or so. It was hard at first, but I did it.

I think everything in moderation is fine.. We get so obsessed.. I had a cup of coffee 3 times a day throughout both my pregnancies.. early on.. and all was fine..

BUT I will say that there's caffeine in some foods that we don't consider sometimes..

However.. as my Doctor said, .. the amount of caffeine you have to drink and consistently to cause damage.. is a lot.

With my first, I cut out caffeine entirely, the second I cut it out almost all the way, but would still sometimes have a cup of half caf (half regular, half decaf) on bad days. By the time my third pregnancy rolled around, I had a cup of coffee most days... because otherwise I wouldn't have made it through the day with 2 toddlers and a belly

Caffeine is a stimulant and it makes your digestive tract speed up. And according to the FDA one cup a day is safe during pregnancy.

I was really paranoid about caffeine intake with the first two pregnancies. And since my 2nd pregnancy the smell made me nauseous. Still does so if I drink it has to be a frozen so that it doesnt smell like coffee lol
