Learning handwriting takes a lot of practice and fine motor skills development. You can prepare children for this by encouraging pre-handwriting skills. A couple ways you can do this is having them play connect the dots and doing mazes. This is to get their fingers and hands in the proper grip position.

Once they start writing, there are all kinds of free printables with letters, numbers, and colors you can use that they can trace on their own. Have them use various writing implements like crayons, colored pencils, markers and regular chunky pencils.
