I have a newborn and pregnant again: can I breastfeed

Yes, you can. I have breastfed through pregnancies. I have also stopped breastfeeding when the breast soreness was too much or if I felt my space was being infringed upon. I believe I was tandem nursing in both of these situations and stopped nursing my two year old, then my nine month old a few months later.


If you find yourself pregnant shortly after having a baby, you can continue breastfeeding if that is what you have been doing. I have not been through that personally, but I know other mamas who have.

It may be more difficult than regular nursing as you will be experiencing trademark pregnancy symptoms such as nausea and sore breasts, but you can do it, if you really want too.
