It's safe to be around cats but always wash your hands and face after. Cats paws have been in their litter box where germs are breeding!

Have someone else take care of the litter boxes while your pregnant, if no one can help then wear gloves and a mask.

You can be around cats while you are pregnant, you just have to be careful around their litterbox. The best option is to have someone else clean the litterbox; however, if that is not an option, then buy some good plastic gloves and a face mask. That is what I did when my husband was out of town.
