My brother's girlfriend has twin sons and one of them has autism. Several years ago, when we went to visit them for a week, her son had a meltdown. Unfortunately, it happened in the car when Henry was sitting next to him while my brother and I were sitting up front. The little boy was kicking, screaming, punching and flailing about.

After we arrived at our destination, I reassured Henry that everything was ok. I told him that when a person has autism, their brain works differently. This means that they process things in a different way. They might have meltdowns like what he saw. They have their own way of responding to situations, answering questions, or holding conversations.
