Kids love to help out in the kitchen. Use their enthusiasm as opportunities to teach them about health and nutrition. When kids bake, they're able to learn science and math as well.

Yogurt parfaits are easy to make and eat. They look even prettier when you use a clear glass or bowl. Put in alternating layers of low fat granola, fresh sliced fruit and vanilla yogurt.

A couple of these recipes will require some assistance from adults.

English muffin pizzas are another kid pleaser. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Separate English muffins into halves and put some tomato sauce on each one. Sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese and add whatever toppings you like. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is golden and browned on the edges.

Make a cherry pineapple smoothie by blending 1 cup frozen cherries, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup orange juice and 1/2 cup Greek yogurt. If it is too thick, add more orange juice.
