There is still a chance to get pregnant on a birth control method you might get from the OB-GYN's office, like if you miss a pill or take certain medications.

Personally I wont take any form of hormone birth control. I will not do the pills, shots, patches, ring or IUD.

I practiced natural family planning, pull out method and condoms and I never got pregnant when I didn't want to. It takes practice and dedication but it is possible.

vasectomies are not 100% effective. There are lots of stories of people who are surprise pregnant after a vasectomy. (the guy was declared to be 'shooting blanks,' the girl got pregnant, and then after another test the guy is still declared to be 'shooting blanks' and no the girl did not cheat.) A vasectomy also takes time to become an effective birth control method, usually after 3 months it can be reliable, but that isn't always the case.

I used to be on the Nuvaring which was my favorite of the birth controls I tried, but I will not go back on anything hormonal because it messes with me too much. I'm not sure what I may use in the future.

Abstinence is the only 100% method of birth control. But having your tubes tied brings the chances of getting pregnant very very low.... but there's still a chance!!
