When a mom is going to be away from her baby she needs to pump her breastmilk to keep up her supply. You should pump as often as your baby would normally be breastfeeding. I recommend pumping every two hours during the day and about every 3-4 hours at night. You should pump for about 10-20 minutes or until your breast is empty. You might need to use emotional triggers to help your let down. Try thinking about your baby, looking at a picture of your baby, smelling an item of clothing your baby wore, etc.
