Constipation can easily happen with 3 year old children because they tend to consume a lot of binding foods such as white bread, bananas and dairy products. Try avoiding those products and switching to high fiber or whole grain products such as cereals, breads and pasta. Offer fiber rich foods like broccoli, grapes and apples. You could also give them undiluted apple juice.

Making sure they're drinking plenty of fluids and/or giving them a warm bath can also alleviate constipation.
