6 weeks is the earliest your doctor can see anything on an ultrasound. Sometimes your doctor might not even be able to see anything yet.

The typical fetal heart rate for 6 weeks is 90-110 beats per minute. But don't worry if the heart rate can not be determined at this stage, it is still pretty early and may be difficult to find.

Generally during a 6 week ultrasound your doctor will be able to see a fetal pole and a yolk sac. But as I said earlier, please keep in mind that it is still early and don;t get upset if nothing is seen.

I had early ultrasound done, the doctor said I was 7 weeks based on my last period but they only say a sac and nothing in it, the doctor said I was either not as far along as we thought or I was having a miscarriage. I was so scared for the next two week or waiting for my next doctor appointment. It all turned out that I was just not as far along as I thought and I must have ovulated late.
