Henry's always had bookshelves overflowing with books so this question makes me feel nostalgic for beloved stories he's outgrown.

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown was an oft read book at bedtime. It's a very simple, gentle book where you say goodnight to various things like the clocks and the socks, the mittens and the kittens. This book became one of our bedtime rituals.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. is a catchy story about the letters of the alphabet climbing up the coconut tree. You can't help but get caught up in the rhythm of the book and you'll find yourself humming long after you've finished reading the story.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle tells the tale of a caterpillar that hatches and all that it consumed with its voracious appetite. Kids will enjoy looking, counting and learning about the metamorphosis of a butterfly.

And who could forget anything written by Dr. Seuss? A lot of the books can be longer and more challenging to read for little ones so try something shorter to start with, like Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman A little bird's mom flies away to look for food so the bird decides to look for her, only he doesn't know what his mother looks like. Along the way, he encounters a kitten and a hen, among other things, and inquires if they're his mother.
