Preschoolers can make fun, cheap, handmade Christmas decorations.

Use leftover plastic beads and metal cookie cutters to make unique decorations. Place a piece of wax paper on a baking sheet and put a cookie cutter on top. Fill the cookie cutter with an assortment of plastic beads in an even layer. Bake at 200 degrees until all the beads melt and blend together. Let cool overnight.

Use colorful buttons and string to make little hanging wreaths. (Holiday theme colored buttons work best.) Once all the buttons are strung, tie a knot and then a loop to hang it up.

Make a paper cone Christmas tree but cutting half way into the middle of a paper plate and twisting the plate to form a cone. Tape or glue into place. Wrap the cone in colored twine or bits of tissue paper. To make a bigger tree, stack cones on top of each other.
