You can't force your child to go on the potty. They have to be ready, and by ready they have to see you use the potty early on. You should explain each and every time what you are doing. If they are interested show them how the toilet works. Ask them if they would like to sit on the potty. Every child is different, My daughter started potty training at 13 1/2. I have her potty next to the bathroom toilet and we go together.


I learn to be patient with my 2nd child. He's potty trained but refuses poop in the toilet. So I hope he's able to poop before he goes to preschool full time this fall
