Sterilizing bottles for baby: is it really necessary?

I still sterilize sippy cups before my son uses them and any new dishes we buy. Always sterilize new bottles and continue to sterilize them until your infant is about 6-8 months after they received most of the vaccines. This is what I was told. It helps keep them from getting sick since their immune system is still developing.

When you buy a new bottle think about the people who handled it and the left over pieces of dust that could be inside! Always clean the bottle before you use it!
