Tooth sensitivity is common during pregnancy. Mainly because there is an increase in blood flow throughout the body and when there is more blood going to the gums, it causes them to soften and then that allows them to get inflamed, causing the teeth to become sensitive.

There are a few things you can do to help alleviate the sensitivity:

Brush and floss your teeth regularly so you don't have an increase in plaque.

Use a soft bristled toothbrush.

Apply ice cubes to your gums to help soothe them.

Avoid sugary treats and drinks. If you have to have them, and lets face it...you're pregnant, you're going to want them...have it with meals so you can brush after or rinse with warm water.

Increase your intake of calcium and other vitamins.

Use toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
