I've heard a few cases of people forgetting their native language after learning another language. When we lived in Costa Rica, people told us, "Don't forget your English!" I didn't bother to learn Spanish, and neither have my kids.

I don't speak Spanish, but my little guys LOVE Go Diego Go! Imagine my husband's face when he came home and Lil' William said Hola!

Most baby toys are bilingual, English and Spanish languages on them. If you're bilingual it's great for children to know and learn your language, though it may delay their speech and confuse them.
I have taught only a few simple things but I'm sticking with English language until she's older.
