The most important thing you can do is have a support person who is confident in your ability to have an unmedicated birth. Having a doctor who is supportive as well can make a huge difference.

Tips for natural pain relief:

- Frequent position changes, do not lay in bed for long period of time.
- Use upright positions as much as possible.

- Bath or shower
- Hot or cold packs
- Music, book, movie
- Focal point or meditation
- Guided imagery
- Words of affirmation
- Staying positive and controlling your fears.
