When children lose their teeth: how to stop bleeding

Wad up a gauze pad if you have one or a piece of paper towel/napkin. It needs to be thick so that it can stay in place for a minute or so. After a full minute (or 2 if there was a lot of blood), pull it off gently and see if the area is still bleeding. If it is, start again with a fresh compress.


If your child can swish warm salt water in their mouth and spit, this will help stop the bleeding.
