A child must be in a rear facing car seat until they are 1 year old AND 20lbs.

Once a child has been transitioned to a front facing car seat they must use one until they are at least 4 years old AND 40lbs.

If your child has outgrown their front facing car seat they must remain in a booster seat until their are at least 8 years old or 4'9" tall, whichever comes first.
