When to use sunblock on babies

It is recommended to NOT use sunscreen on babies under 6 months of age. We took my son to Florida when he was 4 months old and his pediatrician told us to put a little sun screen on the tops of his feet and the tops of his hand since that is the part that would be sticking out of the stroller and have the potential to be burned.

We ended up putting sunscreen on any part of him that stuck out of the stroller, and I'm glad we did. A woman at a restaurant we were at did not do that and she ended up with a baby with burnt arms and legs

I use it sparingly after 6 months of age . I actually haven't used it on Noah yet at all , I just keep him in the shade . I will use it if I know he will be in the sun enough to need it but still will try and keep him in the shade as much as I can !!
