During pregnancy, it's a good idea to try and stick to whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies, low fat or fat free milk and dairy products. Eating small meals, or grazing, throughout the day is also better for digestion and metabolism, whereas if you eat big meals, you'll probably feel sluggish afterward.

For breakfast, you could have a banana-berry smoothie and a cup of whole grain cereal with skim milk. A healthy lunch could consist of a turkey sandwich on a whole wheat pita with a cup of carrot ginger soup. Dinner could be sauteed halibut with spring vegetables and wild rice.

Try these for healthy snacks throughout the day:

- 1/2 cup of dried fruits and nuts
- 1 cup of low fat yogurt
- toasted edamame
- 4 whole-wheat crackers with 1.5 oz reduced fat cheese
- fresh veggies with 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt dressing

Also remember to drink lots of water. Add a splash of seltzer to it if you want bubbles or some fruit juice or cut up fruit for extra flavor.
