itchy skin during pregnancy

an itchy belly during pregnancy usually not serious. When skin expands (and the skin on your abdomen is expanding big time) it gets dry, and dry skin gets itchy.Your butt might have a serious case of the itchiness, too, if it’s expanding along with your belly:) If you’re positively itching everywhere, check in with your practitioner.

What You Can Do About It

1.Don’t scratch, which only causes more irritation.

2. An anti-itch lotion, like the pink calamine lotion your mom put on your chicken pox, works in particularly tough cases

3. Vitamin E oil is very healing — great for sore nipples after pregnancy, too.

4. Soak in a gentle oatmeal bath with warm (not hot) water.

Oh, I scratched in my last pregnancy. I never thought of those scrub gels, but Lisa I think they'd work too, as well as some nice soothing lotion. Always fun to pamper, right?
