Sharing rooms

Each of my kids for the foreseeable future will not be sharing a room. They hardly spend any time in it anyways but I believe rooms are for sleeping and quiet time. They have 2 rooms where they can play together and scream but the bed room is for naps, studying and quiet play. There is nothing wrong with sharing a room but sometimes kids, especially older ones want alone time without being bothered by siblings.

I agree to an extent.. We don't have a bunch of rooms..we have two bedrooms, including mine, so mY kids have to deal.. and always have.. I DO think that my son who is 9 will need his won room sooner than later.. but we work it out, for dressing privately and alone time we make sure they each get their time...

I think that rooms, are their own space.. a place where they can go to play alone, sing, draw, read and sleep.. My kids always slept better when they were in a room they spent some time in.. I loved my room growing up. it was MY space. my office, bed, playroom and I had what I wanted on my walls, etc.. I of course had to keep it clean and respectful, but I think kids should share a room when they'r younger.. My kids have a leg up on other kids about sharing and time management at 7 and 9 than most adults do ...

To each is own.. I think kids have their space.. if I had two extra rooms, one would be my space and office and the other a family room.. Not theirs ...

One day we will have more rooms and I look forward to them making that room their own, but for now... a lot of families don't have that many rooms..

My kids still spend most of their time together and rarely in their rooms. We have an open concept house so they can have their own room. If we lived in a small house they probably would share a room but alas we are lucky I guess. Our home has 6 rooms but now 4 are occupied. What would I do with 4 extra rooms if they shared? If they ever say they WANT to share, sure why not but they don't so I think it was a swell choice :)

haha that's another reason they have their own room. Bentley sleeps WAY more at his age so if Brynlee wanted to play in her room she wouldn't need to worry about waking Ben.
