Had fun making cheese!

Making cheese is a L-O-N-G process. We were at our friend's at 8:15am and didn't get home until about 4:45pm. Granted there's a lot of waiting and timing different stages so we got to talk the day away, but it was fun and we learned A LOT.

Out of 2.5 gallons of raw milk we made 2.6 pounds of cheddar cheese and a pint of ricotta cheese.

These uploaded from final product to the curd stage. It tastes yummy. Very mild because we did not allow it to age because we all wanted to take some home today.

Can't wait to make some cheese out of Miss Moo's milk. We have to get some supplies or come up with some alternative solutions first though.

I think we have talented friends! :) But we do want to use more of Miss Moo's milk for cheese and yogurt so we do not have to buy those things at the grocery store. It is just taking some time to integrate all of these product making into our daily routine.
