Cool breastfeeding factoid

So I just learned something really cool about breastfeeding. A lot of babies are obsessed with sticking their fingers in their mom's mouth. I know my daughter does it any chance she gets. Apparently this is a survival instinct because the mother's body is capable of recognizing germs that the baby has been exposed to through oral contact. Then the mother's body produces specific antibodies against those germs and the baby gets them through the breastmilk.

Isn't that cool? It's like my boobs are built in pharmacists. I can imagine them saying "hmm it looks like the baby has been exposed to the common cold, throw some antibody 104B into the 1:00 feeding", LOL.

They actually think this could have something to do with why mothers statistically kiss their kids more often then fathers.
