Holding 11 week old in sitting position

I would say not. Babies need to be able to support the weight of their head , also their little spines aren't every developed yet. Lots of babies like to be facing out so that they can see what's going on around them and you could certainly do that just make sure your giving them good back and neck support when you do.

We always held our babies in sitting position in our laps to burp them, but we also held them in other positions too. I remember our oldest distinctly preferring sitting position. Of course we supported their heads by having our hand under their chin. I say do what comes naturally and what makes baby happy. Always remembering to support their head and neck.
